about me

I am a Houston based poet, wordsmith, certified yoga teacher, and artist. I graduated from Texas Christian University with a Bachelor’s in theatre and English in 2018 and earned my 200hr RYT certification in 2020 at Yogaleena School. My poetry has been published in Chaos, Dive, Reunion by Mutabilis Press, eleven40seven, Vamp Cat Mag, Brave Voices Magazine, and the anthology Texas’ Best Emerging Poets of 2017. I strongly believe in intersectional feminism, equal rights for all peoples, environmental justice, and the healing power of art and movement. As a wordsmith-for-hire, I have worked with churches, schools, businesses, and individuals to create excellent content in a variety of forms. From Instagram posts to novels, I can handle it all. In 2018 and 2019, I collaborated with The Rev. Charlie Holt to create a devotional on the book of Hebrews, worked with a team at St. John the Divine to create a textbook for a class on the New Testament, and edited a full length biography for a major agricultural corporation. Currently, I’m writing poetry, teaching yoga, and running the Instagram account for Casa De Novia Bridal. I also work at my family’s business, Carl Poe Co., and I’m proud to be the fourth generation to contribute. My hobbies include baking, fashion, spending time with friends, shopping, and reading cozy mysteries. I’m always looking for new opportunities in my community, and with a number of projects in the works, who knows what I will do next!
